for Enhanced Resident Care
As resident care becomes more complex, enhancing communication across an interdisciplinary team is imperative. Gemstone Care Centre is proud of the investment in Point Click Care™ technology, an electronic health record (EHR) platform that will benefit residents through the delivery of enhanced quality of care along with increased support for our service team.
At Gemstone, we’re proud of our Exemplary Standing with Accreditation Canada – the highest rating achievable – and how it aligns with our culture of continuous improvement. Today we are celebrating another example of continually raising our standards through the implementation of Point Click Care™. We’re fortunate to have this investment by Trellis Seniors Services, as we appreciate about 1-in-3 care facilities implement an EHR program, and we know that Point Click Care™ is a leader and innovator in this area.
Our service team, including nursing, care, recreation, dining, therapy and specialty skills, is both proud and eager to fully embrace each step in the Point Click Care™ offering.
Why? We want to improve resident service by leveraging technology to achieve better communication, reduce administration time and increase support for care needs. Our focus is on the resident and how we can best serve them which is why Point Click Care™ is a direct fit for us.
Through a central location of accessible and secure information, we know that:
- Individual resident needs are better addressed. Informed decisions can be made faster, with a holistic resident file to consider, in one central secured repository. It simply aligns with our commitment of providing exceptional care and service.
- Team members are supported in their work. Information can be easily input at various ‘stations’ (iPads, desktops, etc.) which are conveniently located throughout the home. These tools support us while we work, rather than having to retain details and report out when possible.
- Records are timely and integrated. Each resident’s record will be current, through ‘real time’ electronic inputs from the Team and kept securely in one ‘place’. By having a central data-location for all information, we will have everything we need to know at our fingertips.
- Paper is minimized. This feature both improves safety by ensuring that the most current information is used and supports communication, as information can be accessed when and where needed. It also helps the environment by reducing our footprint from paper use.
