Trellis Projects – Lower Mainland
Trellis Seniors Services looks forward to announcing ground-breaking ceremonies in 2018 that will signal the beginning of construction for two of its development projects in the Lower Mainland: Creekstone Care Centre and Hamilton Village Care Centre.
Creekstone Care Centre is a 6-storey care facility located at 1502-1546 Oxford Street in North Vancouver, BC, that will serve 180 seniors. This project is one of many developments in the new Lynn Creek Town Centre and it will provide seniors housing, services and employment to the North Shore community. Trellis is also building Hamilton Village Care Centre which is located at 23100 Westminster Highway in Richmond, BC. This site, located in a growing and developing area, will provide 135 care beds in a 3-storey wood-frame design.
In June 2016, Trellis was awarded contracts by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) to develop and operate three publicly-funded residential care facilities as part of VCH’s strategic goals to rejuvenate and expand healthcare for seniors. Since that time, Trellis has worked closely with VCH to ensure that the design of each facility meets the resident needs and expectations. “Trellis is flexible, innovative and focused on enhancing each resident’s living experience. They have provided regular and timely updates and have actively involved the VCH team throughout the design process,” says Keith McBain, Regional Director, Residential Care Rejuvenation, VCH.
The Trellis team is continuing to work closely with municipal bodies to address the final refinements necessary for building permits and ultimately, to begin construction. “Due to the overall volume of development occurring in each of these municipalities, the process for permitting has been delayed with opening dates shifting to late 2019 and possibly early 2020. However, everyone is continuing to act as expeditiously as possible and we appreciate all the efforts of the District of North Vancouver and the City of Richmond to advance these much- needed health services,” says Mary McDougall, President of Trellis Seniors Services.
As with all large projects, it takes a team of talented people to achieve great results. Trellis is especially proud of the affiliate group of consultants, advisors and partners. “Trellis is a long-standing client and has excellent standing in the lending community. They are experienced with building complex projects and experts in residential care. We are pleased to be arranging the financing for these projects and supporting the Trellis team,” says Denis Bourassa, Co-CEO of Stonebridge Financial Corporation.
Trellis will continue to provide updates on these projects as construction gets underway.
