Creating Christmas Joy at Creekstone

Creekstone Care Centre recently celebrated their first happy holiday season this past December with a big bang! The fun started by building gingerbread houses in in the Shipyards Bistro at Creekstone. This special event was open to all Residents as well as staff and families and the only requirement was a bit of creativity. The possibilities for decorations were endless and participants needed to keep in mind the five categories possible to win: Most Creative, Most Festive, Most Colourful, Looks Most Delicious, and Best Constructed House.

After a close finish and lots of smiling faces, first place for each category was awarded and congratulations shared were with all winners and participants.

As December moved along, we were joined by Santa, Mrs. Claus and The Grinch (all played by Creekstone employees) to bring laughter to our 12 themed days of Christmas events. The frosty trio made rounds to see everyone and joked with many about being on the nice or naughty list. The whole day was spent spreading joy and cheer throughout the home. Residents, families and staff were also encouraged to join in and dress up according to theme and style. “It was so fun to see people sporting a fancy Christmas hat, something red, Christmas socks, Christmas pajamas, Ugly sweaters, and more!”, said Mei Marquez, Recreation Manager for Creekstone.

Although we continue to move through uncertain circumstances, it is crucial to find joy in our everyday lives. Creekstone sends out a huge thanks to all of you who joined us this first holiday season and helped create joy in life and aging. Happy holidays! ☺
